Vestibular Hand Piece
Designed for the work on buccal (or vestibular) side of molars teeth. Used with extension. Used with extension. Coated with diamond chips.

The grinding burr is less guarded which facilitates perfect positioning. The wide diamond head results in fast and efficient work. Can be used for buccal side, for upper and lower teeth. You may consider having the full-mouth speculum not entirely opened: This improves the access to the buccal area and enhances the comfort for the horse and the practitioner.

If used without extension this hand piece can be used universally for work on incisors, canines and bit seat as well. However, the short hand pieces below are much better suited for that purpose.

Maintenance

There is no daily maintenance for HDE instruments. It is important to clean the instruments after every use.  Dental debris becomes very hard when it dries and difficult to remove from the burr.  Please use a coarse plastic brush or a wire brush and water to clean the disk.

The head of the HDE hand pieces are water resistant and can be rinsed with water for cleaning. Run the float on high speed after water immersion to spin off excessive water, and wipe the instrument dry after using.

All HDE grinding tools are coated with natural diamonds that are very durable. Changing the grinding burrs is necessary after about 1000-2000 uses. We recommend to replace the seal and bearings at the same time. The procedure is not difficult but requires some technical skills. We offer a maintenance kit containing the tools needed to perform procedure for all of the hand pieces except the Flexxidisc.
If you don't feel comfortable performing the procedure you can send it to us and we complete maintenance and burr changes for a minimal fee. Any maintenance on the Flexxidisc has to be performed by Swissvet or HDE in France.
